GlobalTCO is a project of applied research under the
leadership of the Center for Enterprise Sciences
at the Swiss
Federal
Institute of Technology (ETHZ). |

The project, to which we
contribute, addresses the cost
and risks of sourcing activities in emerging economies
— and how they drive the choice of partners and
source countries. |
|
|
|
The aim is to develop a
toolkit, helping manufacturing
companies to examine: |

► the
'total-cost-of-ownership' for alternative sourcing options at the level of individual product
categories, |
|
►
the impact of location-specific issues on the cost-of-ownership
calculus. |
